On 14th June 2022, Polyparts has kickoff a new program, namely Focused Improvement Intervention, which is an improvement program collaborating with Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM).

This is the first step for Polyparts to start their journey in Lean Manufacturing. There are three Continuous Improvement (CI) team to work on different improvement area which are OEE Availability Improvement using SMED in Injection, Lens Cover Assembly Line Balancing for Value Added Solutions (VAS) as well as Visual Factory Visibility Improvement for Warehouse.

The program is sponsored by Mr Vince Lew, the CEO of Polyparts. In the opening ceremony, Mr Vince shared that in Lean Manufacturing, it is not only about reducing cost, reducing waste and reducing time but also sustainability which is more important. In this case, he shared that Polyparts has started their new 3R Program and just set up a new 3R station near the car park area.

Mr Vince did share that he has high expectation on this Focused Improvement Intervention Teams, hoping that after completing this pilot program, the company can move forward with other Lean Programs in future.

Mr Vince also shared his vision of Polyparts moving towards World Class Smart Manufacturer in 2030 which will definitely be a long journey but what’s more important is to start the first step, and follow up with good progress.
